The game manual

Everything homeowners ask before their first check.

What do I get?

Every branded product in your quote checked: Fair ✅ or Carrot 🥕, with fair-value prices for flagged items — real numbers to negotiate with.

How does it work?

One upload on our homepage: attach your quote with your email — free, with an on-screen confirmation instantly. The scanner auto-reads your quote, sorts every branded item by category and routes each to the relevant vetted supplier channel. A human validator verifies everything before your verdict is emailed — within 4 working hours (Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm; after-hours submissions join the next morning’s queue).

What can and can't be checked?

Checked: products with a brand or model number (kitchen hardware, sinks, taps, aircon units, lighting, locks, blinds). Not checked: services like painting, tiling and carpentry labour — quality varies, so price alone proves nothing. For services, see Direct Sub-Con Match.

Is my quote kept private?

Yes. Your quote is used only for your check, never shared with IDs, suppliers or anyone else, and deleted after the verdict is sent.

Carrot found — how do I tell my ID nicely?

Use the KIV strategy: "I might buy this item myself — can you remove it from the quote so we can kickstart the reno first?" Saves their face and your money.

Are you against IDs?

No — we flag inflated markups, not hard work. Many quotes come back fair. Honest IDs have nothing to fear from a free check.

What if a flagged item turns out fair?

Verdicts compare your quoted price against trade benchmarks for that item type. If your ID's price includes extras (special installation, warranty upgrades), tell us — we'll factor it in or note it in the verdict. We'd rather issue a boring "fair" than a wrong "carrot".

If I buy from a referred wholesaler or sub-con, who am I dealing with?

Directly with them — willing buyer, willing seller. They handle price, delivery, installation and warranty. CarrotLah connects; the deal is between you and the seller.

Is it really free?

Nothing — the check is free for homeowners, whole quote or single item. Fair-use limits apply per email address to keep the queue for genuine homeowners.
